What Is a Solo Sailing Trip?

Travelling solo doesn’t mean travelling alone. Our solo sailing trips are designed for those who want to explore new destinations while meeting like-minded people along the way. It’s a relaxed and social way to travel — combining discovery, connection, and time to unwind at sea.

A solo sailing trip offers the same all-inclusive experience as our other sailing journeys, with a professional skipper and host taking care of sailing, planning, and meals on board. You’ll enjoy a comfortable and well-organised week at sea, where everything is arranged so you can simply focus on the experience.

These trips are ideal for travellers who enjoy meeting new people and sharing moments along the journey. No sailing experience is required, and whether you prefer to be active or simply relax on board, the pace is entirely up to you.

What does a typical day on board look like?

RISE AND SHINE

The day starts with a lovely breakfast buffet which everyone enjoys on board the boat. Perhaps you’ve already been for a morning dip in the sea? Or you’ve been enjoying the silence with a cup of coffee in the sun? You’re about to spend a stress-free, relaxing and active day with the gang on board the boat.

MID-MORNING

Over breakfast, the skipper shares the plan for the day before it’s time to set sail. If you’re curious, you’re welcome to learn more about sailing and get involved on deck. Or simply relax in the sun, enjoy the views, play a game, or spend time with your fellow travellers as the journey unfolds.

LUNCHTIME

As lunchtime approaches, the aromas from the galley signal that a freshly prepared meal is ready. The yacht anchors in a calm, scenic bay where you can cool off with a swim and enjoy a shared lunch on board. Afterwards, there’s time to relax, socialise, and unwind before continuing the day’s journey.

AFTERNOON

After lunch, we continue sailing towards the day’s final destination — often a lively harbour, charming village, or scenic bay with local restaurants. Along the way, keep an eye out for dolphins or porpoises as you cruise through open waters.

On arrival, light snacks are served on board while the skipper shares insights about the destination and what to explore ashore. The evening is yours to enjoy — whether dining at a local restaurant, exploring the surroundings, or simply soaking in the atmosphere by the sea.

When autumn and winter arrive in Europe, our sailing journeys continue in the warm waters of the Caribbean.

Whichever destination you choose, the experience remains the same — a carefully designed, all-inclusive sailing trip where the crew takes care of the sailing, planning, and onboard hospitality. All you need to do is relax, enjoy the journey, and discover new places at sea.

Our sailing trips are designed to be simple and mostly all-inclusive, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the experience at sea. Each sailing trip with a professional skipper and host includes:

A qualified and certified skipper with strong local knowledge and extensive sailing experience
A dedicated host who prepares breakfast and lunch on board, along with a drinks package during the trip
Accommodation in a double cabin on the yacht
Bed linen and towels
Boat-related costs such as port fees, LPG, and diesel

Many sailing trips also include return flights from selected departure airports as well as return transfers between the airport and the marina.

The only additional costs during the trip are typically evening meals ashore and any personal spending for shopping or other purchases during the journey.

Staying on board a yacht is a comfortable and unique experience, combining the essentials of home with the simplicity of life at sea. Space, water, and electricity are naturally more limited, so guests are encouraged to use resources thoughtfully — for example by keeping showers shorter when anchored or moored.

You’ll stay in a private cabin on a sailing yacht or catamaran, depending on the trip. Each cabin accommodates two guests, so solo travellers typically share with another guest. Cabin layouts may include double beds or bunk beds, depending on the yacht.

All yachts are well-equipped with comfortable sleeping areas, a kitchen (galley), bathrooms with showers and toilets, and inviting spaces to relax and socialise, including the cockpit, foredeck, and interior saloon.

While sailing, devices can be charged via 12V outlets, and when docked in marinas, 220V shore power is usually available. Some yachts are also equipped with generators, allowing access to 220V power even at anchor.

In many destinations, marinas also offer additional facilities such as showers and toilets, providing extra comfort during your sailing trip.

During your sailing trip, the crew ensures everything runs smoothly so you can fully relax and enjoy the experience at sea. The host takes care of meals on board, preparing and serving breakfast and lunch while creating a welcoming and social atmosphere for everyone on board.

Our sailing trips include breakfast, lunch, and a drinks package with water, soft drinks, and wine or beer served with meals. In the evenings, the yacht typically docks in a harbor town or island village where guests enjoy dinner ashore and explore the local restaurants and cafés.
